AMSS202 - Predictive Alarming
Using advanced analysis tools, learn how to automatically identify the conditions
that lead to process upsets before they occur. Create an effective alarm strategy
to monitor the operational integrity of key processes and prevent alarm showers,
disruptions, equipment damage and diminished production.
The Predictive Alarming course provides participants with a highly advanced
understanding of total plant alarm management. This workshop teaches how to take a
properly integrated alarm philosophy and expand it to equipment monitoring to prevent
and reduce downtime as well as optimize plant production.
Upon completion of the Predictive Alarming Workshop, participants will
have acquired knowledge related to:
-
Integrating online monitoring and equipment condition assessment
for key generation equipment including turbines, pumps, fans, coal
mills, pulverizers, precipitators and others.
-
Understand preventative maintenance versus predictive maintenance
enabling early detection and notification of incipient fault
signatures which can be determine from online data analysis.
-
Increase the effectiveness of maintenance planning and scheduling by
monitoring the condition of assets. Learn how downtime can be scheduled
to conduct multiple maintenance activities without compromising
reliability of generation assets.

Predictive Alarming is held within a computer lab where each participant
is given dedicated use of a computer for the duration of the course. The course is
comprised of presentations, examples, demonstrations and hands-on exercises.
Participants are encouraged to discuss current alarm and event issues they face.
Predictive Alarming (AMSS202) is a very detailed and specific course.
In order for participants to benefit fully, the course is tailored towards their
control system, plant assets and specific industry. If you are interested in more
