AMSS103 - Management of Change
Local, state and federal safety regulations have been, and continue
to be, legislated requiring plant’s to have comprehensive Management
of Change (MOC) policies. This course shows participants how to
instantly identify & report critical alarms to ensure control systems
are configured in a way that adheres to regulatory requirements and,
more importantly, are safer.
The Management of Change course equips participants with the ability
to integrate a system to automatically control and monitor changes made
to plant alarms. The benefit is that optimized processes will remain
optimized. In addition, plants will learn how to comply with current
and upcoming legislation governing alarm systems.
Upon completion of the Management of Change Workshop, participants
will have acquired knowledge related to:

Audit trails: Learn how to automate the processes
required for process audits.

Alarm rationalization and AOA: Understand the
tools available to expedite alarm rationalization and sustain
alarm objectives.

Modal Settings: Learn how MOC can be used to
automatically enforce DCS settings for different batch products
or plant states.

Reliability: Increasing plant reliability.

Insurance: Understand what governs insurance
premiums and how MOC can comply to insurance requirements
and reduce costs.

Management of Change is held within a computer lab where each participant
is given dedicated use of a computer for the duration of the course. The course is
comprised of presentations, examples, demonstrations and hands-on exercises.
Participants are encouraged to discuss current alarm and event issues they face.
Management of Change (AMSS103) is a very detailed and specific course. In
